The word ‘Culinary’ defined by dictionaries is always related to “kitchen and cooking”, while the word ‘Art’ refers to the “the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles of what is beautiful, appealing, or more than ordinary significance.” These two words together “Culinary Arts” represent the art of preparation, cooking and the presentation of food. It’s much more than just cooking and involves creativity, innovation, and even science.

As our Culinary program leader, Mr.Shaun Leonard, says: “The Chef of today needs to possess many attributes and skills. It is not sufficient anymore in the international competitive environment to just create great food in a cost effective way. Instead chefs also need to be able to create, inspire, manage, lead and support their team.”

A Culinary Degree at B.H.M.S. encompasses a comprehensive range of topics, both academically and practically. “The B.H.M.S. Culinary Arts program embodies exactly these qualities allowing us to develop competent professionals, ready for the challenges they face in the industry today and in the future.
