On Friday 18th November 2016, B.H.M.S. was invited to The Royal Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, as the first hospitality school in Switzerland to present Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn an educational scholarship to study business and hospitality management at B.H.M.S. in Lucerne city, Switzerland.
Mr. Heinrich Meister; President of Benedict International Education Group, together with Dr. Anthony Erb; International Programmes Dean, and Ms. Pornuma Thongsawai; ASEAN Regional Manager received the honour to present the scholarship to The Princess of Thailand, who will provide opportunities for her staff and esteemed members of the Thai educational community to pursue higher studies abroad.
It was another great achievement for B.H.M.S. to have an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In Thailand there is no greater honour than to be invited to the Palace to meet with members of the royal family. Thank you to Thai Agents Association; TIECA for the excellent coordination to make this honourable day happen on such a professional level.
The day began with the B.H.M.S. team meeting at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in formal and appropriate attire, which follows the conservative Thai Royal etiquette and dress code.
After Mr. Meister, Dr. Erb and Ms. Thongsawai posed for photographs, they began their journey to the Chitralada Royal Villa located within Dusit Palace. All three of the esteemed B.H.M.S. representatives were excited and moved to be the first hospitality school in Switzerland to present Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn with this educational scholarship.
All attendees received the official royal etiquette training including instructions regarding how to present oneself, where to stand, and other important gestures. Once the training was complete and the television networks and official royal photographers were set up Her Royal Highness and her entourage entered the room.
Khun Annop; President of TIECA announced all of the important background details regarding each attendee and institution, as the various schools and airline staff presented one by one to the gracious Princess.
After the presentation ceremony, the attendees had the opportunity to briefly mingle with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and discuss important issues regarding Thai international education before closing the event. On behalf of all attendees and members of B.H.M.S. we would like to thank Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her graciousness in accepting our scholarship as the first of its kind as a hospitality school from Switzerland. This is a moment of significance for B.H.M.S. and an inspirational achievement that will truly be cherished.
