An Amazing Summer of 2018 in Switzerland
In the summer time B.H.M.S. offers a two-week familiarization program for school leavers or University graduates that features highlights such as exploring Lake Lucerne, different sports activities, wine classes, tableside cooking and much more. Moreover, the academic part of the program will help young ones experience the skills and demands for a career in the tourism and global management sector and discover the ideal training needed to attain their career objectives.
This summer B.H.M.S. hosted students from all over the world who had an opportunity to experience Lucerne as a study destination and enjoyed the most fun and colorful Swiss Summer. Here are some of the highlights:
Tableside Cooking – a great opportunity for the students to create flambé crepes, using a cooking technique where chefs add alcohol to a very hot pan, causing a burst of flames.
Wine Degustation - the students had a great time exploring one of the most beautiful Swiss vineyards where they could try some delicious wines and learn more about what is involved into wine-making.
Cooking Experiments – a workshop led by our Executive Chef Shaun Leonard who introduced students to one of the most fascinating cooking methods – Liquid Nitrogen cooking. Nitrogen is used in its liquid state, characterized by a temperature of -196ºC / -320ºF, which means that everything it touches "freezes" instantly.
Exploring Lake Lucerne - the students took a relaxing boat trip to Bauen - a beautiful Swiss village along the shore of the crystal blue Lake Lucerne, where they could swim, grill and enjoy a hot summer day to the fullest!
It was a great pleasure for B.H.M.S. to host participants from all over the world at the summer program and we hope to see them back again in Lucerne in the near future!
